Safety Requirements
Our highest priority in our faith development program is to maintain an environment that is physically, emotionally, and spiritually safe. When you are leading a class or a social event, the needs of the children and youth need to be your highest priority. If, for some reason, you are not able to be emotionally or spiritually present for the children (i.e., family emergency, health problems, etc.,) please let your class coordinator or Jennifer know as soon as possible so we can find a sub. Please read the safety policy below for the specific requirements for children and youth safety. At the end of the safety policy, there are a number of documents for your review.
Anyone volunteering with youth on a regular basis needs to get a Criminal Background check and a Child Abuse Clearance. You only need to get the FBI fingerprinting clearances if you have lived in Pennsylvania less than 10 years. Please make sure you obtain the clearances you need and bring them with you to the leader orientation meeting!
